If you read any of my articles or watch my youtube videos you’ll always catch me talking about this quiz because I truly believe that it’s the best starting point for everyone who is even considering trying to get an ex back.
You can’t really follow any of my other advice until you have a realistic idea of where you stand and how much effort you need to get your ex back.
Today I’m going to take you through how we came up with this quiz, how we structure the questions, and how to interpret your answers.

Now I’m sure no one here is a stranger to online quizzes.
Whether that’s a midnight quiz to figure out what kind of pasta you are or one of the hundreds of online quizzes about getting your ex back.
You can find lots of generic quizzes that give you vague answers about your chances of getting an ex back but we wanted to do it differently.
We decided to survey our audience by sifting through YouTube comments and posts and comments in our private Facebook support group to see what people truly wanted to know and how their behaviors influenced their ex recovery process.
The first thing everyone always asks is whether they have a chance to get their ex back, followed by what they should do next.
We decided to create our quiz as a shortcut and entry point to answer their first question and the detailed results of our quiz would help with what they should do next. Our quiz was made to be as close as possible to a one size fits all that will help segregate people into two groups: people who should be trying to get an ex back and people who shouldn’t.
Disclaimer: As I said, the quiz was designed to be the ‘closest’ thing to a one size fits all solution. It is definitely not the be-all-end-all of your ex recovery process.
I often see people who want their ex back extremely badly take our quiz and get angry at me when their results say their chances of getting their ex back are low.
The quiz is only meant to tell you what group you fall in and even if you wind up having a low chance of success that doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t succeed. We’ve had examples where people had below average or low chances of getting their exes back but they did it anyway! How so? Well, it’s all about how the quiz is structured…
How Do We Structure The Quiz?
One of the best parts about doing this for a long time is you get to see a lot of different circumstances in a lot of different situations.
You get to see what works and what doesn’t work for most people and you can then generalize those ideas as we’ve done in our quiz.
The quiz is divided into three distinct parts
- Your relationship with your ex before the breakup
- Your breakup
- Behavioral insight
Let’s begin dissecting what these three parts mean and a little bit of the psychology behind why we are looking at them.
Part 1: Your Relationship With Your Ex Before The Breakup
This is all about your past relationship because having a clearer idea of that helps us determine what your future could be like.
We ask several questions to get as many data points as possible and interestingly each question is weighted differently according to our experience of how it impacts your chances.

Your age and your ex’s age
We ask about this because we’ve found that the larger the age gap, the lower the chances of success. So if you and your ex have a 10 to 15 year age gap it doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t get them back, just that we have seen a lower success rate in those situations.
Whether you share children
Exes who share children are more likely to get back together because you have something in common that ties you together. So yeah, we ask 12 different questions regarding your past relationship regarding indicators that we’ve seen playing the biggest role in getting an ex back.
Part 2: Your Breakup
While part one was a bit more about the past of your relationship, part two is more current because it asks for information regarding your breakup. We all know that breakups can be ugly or cordial and the degree of conflict in your breakup or the reason for your breakup has a huge bearing on your chances of getting your ex back.
Here are a couple of questions we ask in this section and the reasoning behind them:
Who broke up with whom?
If you broke up with your ex you have a slightly higher chance of getting your ex back and those chances diminish if you were broken up with.
Has your ex blocked you since the breakup?
If you’re in a situation where you are in a full-out block on all communication media with your ex, you have a lower chance of success.
Our quiz adds up all the situational factors regarding your breakup and immediate post-breakup life to see whether your circumstances are working for you or against you.
Let me remind you again though: a lower chance of success doesn’t mean you can’t get your ex back. It just means that based on the way you answered your quiz and your current circumstances, you have a higher hill to climb to success than others.
Part 3: Behavioral Insight
Part three is the shortest part (only 3 questions) but it’s the most crucial and highest weighted one.
Why?
Well, because getting your ex back is not an easy process.
It requires actual work, dedication, discipline, and patience.
It’s simple really – if you’re not disciplined or don’t deal well with uncertainty, you probably won’t do well in the ex recovery process, regardless of what your relationship of the breakup was like.
People often tell white lies in these questions which can skew their results. Let’s be real: Most people don’t do well with uncertainty and aren’t super disciplined after a breakup. In fact, most people are probably an emotional mess, desperate to get their ex back ASAP.
You really need to be brutally honest in this section so our quiz can yield honest results. It’s okay if you’re not proud of the fact that you’re not very disciplined or don’t deal with uncertainty very well. You still need to be honest so we can place you in the right category.

After you finish your quiz you’re taken to the quiz results page and a lot is going on here so let’s break it down into four sections:
Your score out of 100
This score is the building block of what your ex recovery process will look like.
However, the score isn’t as straightforward as thinking that a score of 71 means that you have a 71% chance of getting your ex back.
Because we weigh all our answers differently and the smallest change can impact your score, we recommend only using the score as a guide to see where you fall on our scale
A legend regarding our four scaled categories and where you fall on them
There are four potential ranges in which you can find yourself after taking our quiz:
- 85-100 – Good chances usually mean that you have a pretty good shot from everything that we’ve seen.
- 70-84 – Above average chance means you have still a very good shot from everything that we’ve seen but it won’t be an absolute cakewalk.
- And then of course if you find yourself in the “Below Average” or “Low” range, that tends to mean that maybe you’re a better candidate for looking elsewhere or trying to get over your ex as opposed to getting them back.
Advice And Feedback From Me According To Your Answers
If you scroll a bit past your results I give a few specific pieces of advice or feedback based on certain answers on your quiz.
These are just basic guidelines of the most striking or highly weighed answers and areas that I feel like you need to focus on next. However, the real meat of the matter comes in your customized free presentation on what to do next.

Conclusion:
If you take anything from this article take this: don’t be too disheartened if you score lower than you wanted to.
It’s not the end of the line and there are still steps you can take to improve your chances, it just means you’re in a much more difficult situation than someone who scored in a higher range and that’s totally okay.
